School Psychologist Intern

 Anticipated Start Date: TBD based on college/university requirements

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the school psychologist, provide psychological services to schools, including psychoeducational evaluation, counseling, and consulting to assist in meeting the social, emotional, and educational needs of students in regular and special education programs being serviced by the Albion Central School District.

  • Administer and interpret psychological assessments of students, under the supervision of school psychologist;
  • Prepare recommendations regarding the evaluation and services for students;
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, specialists, agency and district personnel, and parents;
  • Counsel students; coordinate behavior management programs;
  • Provide psycho-educational assessments of students for districts and programs and participate in resulting Individual Educational Program (IEP) meetings;
  • Interpret psycho-educational assessment results;
  • Develop student goals and objectives;
  • Facilitate IEP meetings, as required;
  • Provide written reports analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing test results, observations and information from school personnel, students and parents;
  • Act as liaison between public and private agencies and county programs;
  • Develop, coordinate and provide training to staff, parents, agency and district personnel;
  • Maintain professional competencies in areas of responsibility;
  • Maintain contact with and participate in professional job-related organizations and serve as a liaison to professional groups;
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Internship phase of school psychology program
  • Experience working with students from various demographic groups
  • Letter          of Introduction
  • Resume
  • Fingerprint clearance through NYSED TEACH; Drug Testing; current TB test; current Physical (less than one year old) – all completed upon being hired for employment

Terms of Employment: 10-month year; $25,000

Evaluation: Completed by Administration

Certified and Non-Certified Teachers needed for Pre-K-12. 

1 full day = more than four hours

1/2 day = up to and including four hours

Certified Instructors - $125 per day

Non-Certified Instructors - $100 per day

If you apply to be a substitute teacher, fingerprinting will be necessary and will be paid for by the substitute teacher applicant. (Please note the cost is the State Education Department processing fee.)
